Brennan’s early exposure to retail came through a part-time job at M&S in Merry Hill, where he first encountered the mechanics of customer interaction. The experience stuck with him, prompting him to pursue a degree in Retail Management. “I realized I wanted to work in an environment connected to fashion and music,” he recalls. His time at Debenhams as a trainee assistant manager solidified his interest in the strategic side of retail, leading him to roles at Browns and Marc Jacobs.
Despite the shift from fashion to furniture, Brennan sees parallels in the core challenges of both industries. “At its core, it’s still about creating something people love,” he explains. The move required learning new terminology and logistics, but his background in brand and customer experience offered a foundation. “I could see how my experience in fashion could translate to furniture,” he says. “It’s about understanding the customer’s needs and delivering a product that resonates with them.”
